What to do in Kampong Cham?

As Cambodia's third largest city, you can do a lot there. When you sign up for the Sunset Boat Tour, you will get to know the lives of local fishermen you will meet along the way and local village life. If you visit Koh Paen Island, where you can get lost on tiny dirt roads for miles and miles, you will feel like you are the only person left on the planet until you come across a cheerful farmer or a lazy cow.

However, we recommend learning the art of Khmer traditional cuisine for those who enjoy cooking. Mountain Pros and Mountain Srey, two famous mountains located just west of the city, are also available. You could have rented a scooter to explore this strange mountain, which also has a collection of impressive pagoda temples, curious monkeys who will steal your food, and sugar cane vendors selling sweet sugar can juice.

You can ride a bike or a motorcycle to the plantation, about 20 kilometres outside of town. If you're brave enough to ride your motorbike across the Ko Paen bamboo bridge, be prepared for it to be deafening and rickety. If you're a little more cautious, a slow walk will suffice to get the idea. Crossing both ways will cost $1 per person (aka tourist). If you happen to rent a motorcycle while in Kampong Cham, why not head over to the French Lookout Tower?
